Log Road MX Motocross April 4^th & 5^th 2009

After three great Log Road MX Open Rides, Mother Nature threw us a curveball that brought us over 6 hours of rain and a forecast of afternoon snow showers and forced us to call off the March 29^th MX event. That means the Log Road April 4^th & 5^th season opener will be the first full weekend of racing in the 2009 GLMX era! Both events are open to bikes, quads and minis. Change is hard for a lot of us, but we truly feel that this new beginning will mean bigger and better things for you the riders. One point that immediately comes to mind is that ZERO DOLLARS of your district membership went to the year end awards banquet supporting its riders. That will not be the case with the GLMX group.

Our first three Open Ride events proved that our tradition as one of the best prepped tracks in the state is still going strong and more improvements and changes are in the works. If you like what we’re doing, tell a friend - and if you don’t, tell us! It is the only way we will know what we need to work at. Our next Open Ride on Sunday, April 19^th will be a good one as Dave Bowman and his Tech-Care crew will be out for suspension set-ups and we will be having our 3^rd Annual Log Road Safety Day, giving our riders a chance to demo a Leatt or EVS Neck brace

A good friend of ours, Jeff Heaston, was tragically injured a couple of weeks ago racing and has a tough road ahead of him. In support of Jeff and his wife Beth, Log Road is going to have a for fun money-moto. A donation of $5 or more will get you an extra 5 laps at intermission on Saturday, April 5^th with all the funds going to Jeff and his wife Beth in their time of need.

The Track was sealed up tight after last Saturday’s Open Ride and will be ready to go Saturday morning and the extended forecast for Sunday is solid until late afternoon, which should ensure some great racing and a strong turnout of riders. Matt Day and the Hotshotz Photography team will be on hand shooting all the on track action. Mad Mike’s Mini’s will be on hand all weekend long offering up great deals for the riders on all your parts and accessory needs.

To steal a phrase from “the GOAT”, we’re super pumped to get the 2009 Log Road racing season underway and we look forward to seeing you April 4^th and 5^th at the GLMX season opener.
